Marilyn Manson, The Black Eyed Peas, Héroes del Silencio, Café Tacuba, Molotov, The Wailers y The Australian Pink Floyd: estos son los grupos internacionales confirmados para el Pepsi Music 07, que se realizará entre el 21 de septiembre y el 2 de octubre en el Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires (conciertos al aire libre) y el estadio Obras (conciertos bajo techo).

La lista de bandas nacionales es frondosa, e incluye a Divididos, Los Auténticos Decadentes, Intoxicados, Los Tipitos, Estelares, Los Natas, Flavio Cianciarulo y La Mandinga Project, No Lo Soporto, Massacre, Pier, Pericos, La Portuaria, Kapanga, Arbol, Pánico Ramírez, Rosal, Cadena Perpetua, Los 7 Delfines, Volador G, El Otro Yo, Cabezones, The Locos, Cuentos Borgeanos, Vetamadre y Canteca de Macao. Entre los solistas, están Fidel Nadal, Bahiano, Dante Spinetta y Emmanuel Horvilleur.

Los precios de las entradas -hasta el domingo 22 de julio; después aumentarán- son los siguientes: $50 cada día nacional y $75 cada día internacional; $325 el abono por los diez días; $80 por dos días nacionales, $100 por dos días combinados, $150 por tres días combinados. Estos dos últimos abonos no incluyen la actuación de Héroes del Silencio -el 22 de septiembre en el Club Ciudad-, en lo que será el último show de la banda española en la Argentina. Es que el grupo liderado por Enrique Bunbury llega en el marco de su gira despedida, que también incluye a México, Guatemala, los Estados Unidos y, por supuesto, España. Por lo menos eso es lo que se anuncia: con la ola de reencuentros rockeros, nadie puede asegurar que nunca se volverán a reunir.

Todavía no está definida la grilla de actuaciones de los demás visitantes internacionales. The Black Eyed Peas, otro de los platos fuertes del festival, llegará al país por segundo año consecutivo: en el 2006 vinieron por primera vez para tocar en el Personal Fest. La banda multirracial de hip hop liderada por la curvilínea Fergie acaba de participar en la sede de Londres del Live Earth, junto a Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers y Metallica, entre otros.

Marilyn Manson viene por tercera vez: en esta oportunidad mezclará sus éxitos con los temas de su su sexto disco, Eat Me, Drink Me, que, según el propio músico estadounidense, es más guitarrero y melódico que sus trabajos anteriores. Por su parte, Café Tacuba vuelve al país luego de una ausencia de dos años, desde su presentación en 2005 en el Gran Rex. Rubén Albarrán, su líder, viene de sacar un disco solista bajo el nombre de Sisu Yantra, pero ellos como grupo no editan novedades desde 2005, cuando aparecieron los álbumes en vivo Unplugged y Un viaje. Su último trabajo de estudio fue Cuatro Caminos (2003).

Solo con ver la caratula del cd nuevo de Bad Religion supe que “they got back to their roots”. Esta banda con 27 a~os de vida, 14 cds , su propio record label (Epitaph) han vuelto a sorprender a sus fanaticada en maneras que solo una frase describe como esta el nuevo cd…“anda pal caraj…”. New Maps Of Hell es uno de esos cd que lo puedes estar escuchando 20 veces en un mismo dia y cuando llegan a la ultima cancion quieres mas y mas.

El cd empieza con un beat para dar inicio a “52 seconds”, cancion que marcha bien para comenzar a demostrar que aun pueden crear canciones que duren menos de un minuto pero te estimulan la adrenalina de una manera sobrenatural al igual que lo hacian en “Suffer” y “How Could Hell Be Any Worse” su primer cd.

Con sus Oozing aahs detras de los coros como en “New Dark Ages”, “Requiem for Dissent” y “Submission Complete” te dan ganas de cantar a pesar que es la primera vez que oigas esta cancion.

Para el single de este cd se escogio la cinica cancion “Honest Goodbye”. Esta trata sobre el asesino en serie Perry Smith que tenÌa caracteristicas simpaticas que en realidad era un asesino que mataba sin piedad. Lo curioso de esta cancion es que no tiene los tipicos solo de guitarras o que su coro en realidad son los Oozing aahs y que mientras el resto de los integrantes de la banda le hacen coro a algunas preguntas, el cantante Greg Graffin las contesta. Algo que personalmente lo encontre interesante al tratarse de un asesino en serie.

God it feels like an Honest Goodbye!

Bad Religion es una de las pocas bandas que conozco que necesitas tener un thesaurus al lado tuyo para poder entender la mitad de las palabras que ellos escriben. Como en “Germs of Perfection” dicen “Depreciate repudiate ameliorate adjudicate/The wisdom found, wisdom found.” Conocidos por su “smart lyrics” nos presentan a la vez metaforas cinicas que cuentan historias para llevar su mensaje de forma creativa y artistica.

Para las canciones “Dearly Beloved” y “Grains of Wrath” son las mas que nos instruyen en historias sobre la injusticia inhumana que se sucede diariamente y de su mision de hacerle entender a las personas que piensen por ellos mismos y que abran los ojos.

En fin este cd tiene de todo, critica gubernamentales, criticas religiosas que nada mas con leer el titulo a canciones como “The Prodigal Son” sabemos que es una alegoria a las historias biblicas que Graffin indica “Don't look at me, no I ain't one, no prodigal son”.

Luego para concluir este grandioso cd es la cancion “Field of Mars”, una cancion que lo tiene todo, un intro de piano que nos recuerda a la era de los 80 con sus primeros EP, una guitarra que tiene tanta energia como un rayo en tormenta, la rapidez que define la agresion de Bad Religion, la voz de Greg Graffin que se nota que dio su todo para llegar a esas notas altas en el coro, los oozing aahs del resto de los integrantes de la banda y por ultimo la lirica que tienen tanto las palabritas intelectuales, las metaforas, los recientes sucesos, religion y gobierno en una misma cancion. Pero eso no es todo, tiene esa mezcla de rapidez pero paran para traer de nuevo el piano que tanto impacta escucharlo. Un mini ejemplo de esta cancion es…

MC5 es un grupo de música Hard Rock formado en Detroit en 1964, y activo hasta 1972, conformado casi en su totalidad por Wayne Kramer y Fred "Sonic" Smith (en guitarras), Michael Davis (bajo), Rob Tyner (vocales), y Dennis Thompson (batería).

Tuvieron un comienzo prometedor, conocido especialmente por sus energéticas presentaciones, las que los llevaron a aparecer en la portada de la revista Rolling Stone en 1968, antes incluso de haber grabado su primer disco. La carrera de los MC5 fue corta, debido a tensiones personales y políticas entre sus integrantes, y fueron largamente olvidados cuando se separaron. Dentro de unos años de su disolución, sin embargo, los MC5 fueron citados frecuentemente como unas de las bandas americanas más importantes de Hard Rock de su era, sus tres discos son verdaderos clásicos, y fueron una gran influencia en el Hard Rock, el Metal, y especialmente, el Punk Rock.
